ENCUENTROS: Exhibition and Book Launch
Join us for a book presentation featuring artwork and performances created alongside the book, grounded in love, justice and passion.
Join us for the launch of Encuentros, a multidisciplinary poetry anthology brought to life through visual art, performance, and community collaboration. This special event gathers the paintings, quilts, and video work created alongside the book, presented together for the first time in a public exhibition.
Throughout the evening, guests are invited to explore the artwork and meet the artists. The program also features an artist talk with Elisabet Díaz Cintrón and Sylvia Hernández, as well as poetry-based performances with Mario Cancel Bigay, Efrén Olson-Sánchez, and Jorge Luis Berríos.
Rooted in themes of love, justice, memory, and communal storytelling, Encuentros reflects two years of creative work developed during a residency at El Puente. This event celebrates that journey and invites the community to share in it.

Join us as we take part in this El Puente community event! Itiba Cahubaba Creations artists Elisabet Díaz Cintrón and Jorge Luis Berríos will be vending a collection of our collaborative works, including the zine “Memories of Borikén: A Lo Lejos,” poetry-inspired art prints, totes, shirts, and a brand-new series of handmade, up-cycled earrings crafted by Elisabet. We’ll also be offering a special preview of Jorge Luis Berríos’s forthcoming book Encuentros, featuring artwork by Elisabet and Sylvia Hernández, along with links to 15 collaborative performance videos created with multiple artists.
